Yes, we are still in Uzbekistan. It is disheartening to see that even after Erkinjon Turdimov became the Minister of Education, the mindset in the country has not changed. What do you know, money was collected from center directors for the visit of the director of the Republican Kelajak Center to Navoi. Indeed, there is no need to discover America anew, we repeat we are still in that same Uzbekistan. Welcome to the trials of education, Mr. Turdimov.
An appeal came to the EFFECT.UZ editorial office stating that 1 million sums are being collected from district and city center directors ahead of the visit of the director of the Republican Kelajak Center to Navoi region. If this information is confirmed, the question is serious: at whose expense should the travel expenses of the leader be covered?
According to a source at EFFECT.UZ, it was stated that the collected funds will be spent on the leader's transport, hotel, meals, and other expenses related to organizing the visit.
Also, according to the source, such money collection has been observed before. In some cases, it was said that there are plans to add the collected funds to employees' salaries as a "bonus".
However, some individuals participating in the conversation stated that they were not informed in advance about such money collection.
Who gave this order?
Another important aspect in the appeal is the information that the requirement to convey this proposal to district directors was expressed by the director of the Navoi Kelajak Center, Golibjon Abdurahmonov.
It is said that this issue was mentioned during Abdurahmonov's meeting with district officials. The EFFECT.UZ editorial office also has an audio recording of this meeting.
If the expenses related to the leader's business trip are indeed being collected from lower-tier leaders, what is the legal and financial basis of these funds?
Questions are many, and the answer remains open
From which funds are the business trip expenses of the leader covered? Is there an official estimate for the business trip? Were funds allocated from the budget for these purposes? If the funds were collected from employees, by whom and on what basis was the order given to collect them?
We remind you that the Republican Kelajak Center has been operating under the leadership of Indira Kholdarova since September 18, 2025.
The EFFECT.UZ editorial office is not yet giving a final evaluation of the truthfulness of the information presented in this appeal. Therefore, we ask the Republican Kelajak Center and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education to provide an official response to this situation, check the information about money collection, and clarify from which source the visit expenses will be covered.
There is no need to discover America anew as news. But if old-fashioned approaches remain in the education system, we have the right to ask questions about it.
