At a meeting with representatives of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a number of new opportunities for industry employees, students, and the private sector.
Starting from 2027, residency will be free. Residents will be paid a scholarship of 3 million soums.
Doctors and pharmacists who pass state registration will receive a 7 million soums bonus, and nurses will receive a 3.5 million soums bonus. Registration will be voluntary from July 1, 2027, and mandatory from 2030.
The monthly bonus for doctors working in remote areas will be increased from 2 million soums to 4.5 million soums. A doctor who goes to work in such an area will be paid a one-time allowance of 50 million soums. In addition, it is planned to pay a bonus of up to 50 million soums per month to compatriot doctors who have gained experience abroad.
Next year, the number of free medicines in the guaranteed package will reach 73, and medical examinations will reach 36.
Medical students will study in clinical practice three days a week, and graduates will spend their final academic year entirely in a medical institution. The salaries of doctors and nurses will be determined based on KPIs, with the population's satisfaction with medical services being one of the main criteria.
Also, land plots for private clinics will be put up for auction on favorable terms. It is planned to allocate space for entrepreneurs to install equipment in state hospitals, and the fees for services rendered will be paid through the insurance system.
Starting from 2027, 10 artificial intelligence systems will be launched in medicine. Specialists in hereditary diseases will be trained in cooperation with Harvard Medical School.
It was also proposed to establish the State Award named after Ibn Sino for medical workers.
