President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony and iftar ceremony of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The ceremony was attended by luminaries, scholars and representatives of the general public through studios in the regions.

Members of various ethnic and religious denominations, representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations also participated. In addition, the event was attended by billionaire Alisher Usmonov from Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the event, the Head of State once again sincerely congratulated the entire people on the blessed month of Ramadan. Countless thanks have been expressed to Allah for bringing us all to these great days in peace and health.

The President noted that in these most dangerous times, peace is a great and priceless blessing, and that our people of more than 38 million people live as one people, a single family, is our greatest wealth.

"I sincerely congratulate all of you on this unforgettable day, the day when the dreams and dreams of our ancestors came true, on the truly enlightenment holiday.

May this unique and great complex, which is a bright mirror of the glorious history and rich culture of our country, the opportunities of New Uzbekistan, be blessed to all of us, to all our people! – inherits the President.

As noted, in order to build the foundation of a developed state and a free society, the high goal "Science and education first of all" is being implemented in our country. Verily, the holy religion of Islam calls man to knowledge and enlightenment.

For this reason, it is said that the seal of the Holy Qur'an on the threshold of the Ulugbek Gate of the Center of Islamic Civilization has a symbolic and thoughtful meaning.

The noble initiative announced at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly received broad support from the world community, especially the Islamic community.

The project was carried out not hastily, thoughtfully, in harmony with scientific research and research. As a result, an oriental town with unique architecture, a true national spirit and national image was built next to the Hazrat Imam complex.

At the Center, it is possible to see the pearls of ancient history and civilization of Uzbekistan in a single enlightenment space, on this basis it is possible to more deeply understand the intellectual and cultural potential of the people.

"Everyone who gets acquainted with this place, our people, especially our youth, understands the humanistic essence of Islam, feels what a great heritage it has, and their hearts are filled with pride and pride," – inherits the President.

It was decided to unite it under the name of Islamic civilization in order to study in depth and promote on a global scale the priceless wealth that is the spiritual property of not only Uzbekistan, but also the entire region.

As international experts admitted, today Uzbekistan is forming a unique scientific school for the study and promotion of the legacy of Islamic civilization, and the country has been able to demonstrate to the world what its great intellectual potential is.

The President touched upon the scope and capabilities of the center and noted that this unique complex is located on an area of almost 10 hectares, the total usable area of the building is 50 thousand square meters.

There are such exhibition halls as "Pre-Islamic Era on the Land of Uzbekistan", "The First and Second Renaissance", "New Uzbekistan – Foundation of the Third Renaissance".

A lot of work was also carried out to form and enrich the exposition of the museum, last year alone more than 1,500 exhibits, including about 800 ancient manuscripts, archaeological finds and historical maps, were placed at the exposition. It was noted that cooperation with foreign auction houses, large collectors and art dealers was established, and the originals of 743 exhibits were brought to Uzbekistan.

In the main hall of the center, the Holy Hall of the Holy Quran, one of the six oldest Qur'anic scholars in the world, Muthabar Mushhafi took an honorable place worthy of his high status. Rare Qur'anic manuscripts from different periods are also collected here.

As noted, the Center for Islamic Civilization has attracted a lot of interest from thousands of foreign visitors as early as 2025. Among them are presidents of a number of states, heads of parliaments and government, deputies and senators, ministers, ambassadors, scientists and public figures, heads of religious organizations.

Qualified specialists from France, China, Great Britain, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, India, Central Asian countries and other countries took part in the design, construction and equipping of the center with modern information technologies.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to the designers and builders, engineers, scientists, foreign partners and experts, including members of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, all selfless people who made a worthy contribution to the construction of this complex.

Special thanks were also expressed to local and foreign entrepreneurs, cultural and sports figures who provided sponsorship assistance in the construction of this large and complex cultural facility.

"When we started to build the Center for Islamic Civilization, I dreamed of finding a page of our history wherever in the world, even if it was a manuscript or a single exhibit, and I set myself this task. I am thankful that today we are slowly achieving this goal. We will definitely continue this work," the head of state said.

It was emphasized that new international scientific expeditions will be organized to identify and study rare manuscripts stored in different countries of the world. Domestic and foreign scientists and leading international research centers are widely involved in this work.

It was also noted that in order to organize the activities of the Center on a large scale, offices have been established here on the basis of cooperation with international organizations such as ICESCO, IRCICA, the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies, the Timurid Society in France, and TURKSOY. Now it is determined that all the necessary conditions will be created to further strengthen cooperation with them.

It was noted that the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan has a new residence in the center, where it is desirable to study the Islamic heritage in depth, improve the qualifications of religious workers and imams, and develop international cooperation.

In the near future, it is planned to host presentations of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the International Research Center of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi and Imam Muturidi at the UN headquarters.

The President emphasized that the center will become a fundamental basis for spiritual and educational activities. It is envisaged that students of the International Academy of Islamic Studies of Uzbekistan will study here in higher courses, and teachers will improve their knowledge and qualifications.

It was noted that the center should become a strong spiritual field for the emergence of new Khorezmians, Beruni and Ulugbeks, Fergani and Ibn Sinas, Bukhari and Termizids among our youth.

In this regard, the head of state addressed scientists and researchers, poets and writers, religious scholars, directors and artists, journalists and creative youth:

"Inspired by this incomparable wealth, let the scientific research, fiction books, film and theater works, cards and shows you create spread throughout the world as the indying voice of three thousand years of history and culture! May the world praise New Uzbekistan as a place of peace, kindness, knowledge and enlightenment! May it become a school of education and national pride for our people, especially our youth!" – inherits the President.

At the end of his speech, the head of state expressed confidence that the center of Islamic civilization in Uzbekistan will remain a platform of peace, goodness, knowledge and enlightenment that will always serve the people of our country and the world.

The Qur'an was recited at the Iftar ceremony. During the holy month of Ramadan, fasts and prayers were offered, asking the Creator to protect our people and Uzbekistan in His protection.
