President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand on March 18. The Head of State began his visit to the region by getting acquainted with the Youth Creative Park in the city of Samarkand.
Today, the city is expanding and turning into a major megalopolis. In recent years, new residential areas and social facilities have been established here, and the population has increased significantly. Naturally, under such conditions, the need to increase green spaces, create new parks, avenues, and recreation areas for the population is growing.
Within the framework of the nationwide "Yashil makon" project implemented at the initiative of the Head of State, more than 16 million tree saplings are planted in the region every year. In the current spring season, it is planned to plant 6.3 million fruit and ornamental trees and shrub saplings, and this process is currently underway in all regions of the province.
The Youth Creative Park was established on a 5.4-hectare area at the site of the former military hospital located on Uzbekistan Street, using over 70 billion soms of sponsorship funds.
There are 5 buildings and structures listed as cultural heritage objects here, which will now be used as a modern and digital library, a multi-disciplinary educational center, creative clubs, artificial intelligence, 3D modeling, robotics, and e-sports gaming centers for young people. An information-resource center, sports halls, and an underground eco-museum have been established.
The Youth Creative Park will be a convenient place, especially for young men and women, not only as a recreation area but also for engaging in information technology and sports, and implementing startup projects.
The regional chess federation is also located in the new park. The federation has the opportunity to hold training camps and competitions here.
Children's attractions, fitness rooms, a table tennis hall, tennis courts, workout, and mini-golf fields have been built in the park. A Nuroniylar (Veterans) center and more than ten gazebos have been constructed in the area. First, the President got acquainted with the activities of the "Profi deutsch" German language teaching and testing center.
An important aspect of this project is that the "Telc" testing center is starting its operations in Samarkand, for the first time in Central Asia. At the center, young people learn the German language and obtain the international "Telc" certificate. Certificate holders will continue their studies in dual vocational education in Germany and be provided with employment. This year, it is planned to open such a testing center in five more regions of our country.
The Head of State was also informed about the work being done under the "Successors of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi" project. Within the framework of the project, 8th-11th grade students are taught digital technologies and foreign languages in depth. Those who successfully complete the training are awarded a special certificate.
Additionally, the activities of "Aloqa Bank" and the National Bank consultative centers on allocating preferential loans to young people starting business activities and supporting startup projects, as well as the Youth Affairs Agency's "Ibrat farzandlari", "Mutolaa", and "Qizlar akademiyasi" projects were reviewed.
The Head of State held a dialogue with the youth and got acquainted with their projects. In particular, young eco-activists participating in the "Eco-schools Uzbekistan" project implemented by the "Zamin" International Public Foundation talked about their plans for 2026.

Responsible officials were given instructions on increasing such modern education and recreation facilities in the city of Samarkand.
