The grand opening ceremony of a prestigious international conference was organized at a high level at the Center for Islamic Civilization. The event was attended by state and public figures, leading scientists, representatives of international organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, and media workers. The conference is significant as it aims to strengthen scientific cooperation, deeply study historical heritage, and convey its global significance to the general public.

The event began with the reading of a congratulatory message sent by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the conference participants. This message was read by the President's Advisor, People's Writer of Uzbekistan Khayriddin Sultanov. The congratulatory speech highlighted the large-scale reforms being implemented in our country, as well as efforts aimed at restoring national history and cultural heritage and introducing it to the world community.

–In New Uzbekistan, great work is being carried out to study the role and significance of the legacy of Amir Timur and the Timurids in the history of universal civilization, to widely popularize it at home and abroad, and to educate youth in the spirit of love for the Motherland and respect for national and universal values.

In particular, a special decree was adopted on the occasion of the 690th anniversary of Amir Timur. According to this document, April of each year is declared Amir Timur Month in our country, and scientific-practical conferences and spiritual-educational events are scheduled to be organized locally and internationally. Today's conference is another practical step along this path, and we will consistently continue cooperation with hardworking scientists and researchers like you, who are true friends of Uzbekistan, to deeply study the Timurid Renaissance and our rich heritage in general, and to further widely introduce the socio-spiritual reforms being carried out in our country to the world public, the congratulatory message stated.

Speakers at the opening ceremony dwelt extensively on the personality and activities of Amir Timur, noting his incomparable contribution to the formation of statehood traditions, principles of justice, and a strong centralized management system. As emphasized, the Timurid era played an important role in the development not only of Central Asia, but of world civilization as a whole.

The plenary session organized within the framework of the conference was moderated by Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. During the session, a comprehensive presentation dedicated to the activities of the Center was held. Detailed information was provided on the Center's work in scientific research, exhibition, cultural-educational directions, as well as international cooperation ties.

- First of all, I sincerely congratulate you, dear guests, on today's historic date – the 690th anniversary of the birth of Sahibkiran Amir Timur, and express my deep gratitude for sparing your valuable time and participating in this prestigious international conference. At this very moment, as the international conference begins its work, a flower-laying ceremony at the foot of the monument to Amir Timur in our capital is being held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This year, thorough and comprehensive preparations were made for the 690th anniversary of Sahibkiran. At the initiative of the head of our state, large-scale reconstruction work was carried out at the State Museum of Timurid History. The museum was presented to our people in a new form, - said the director of the center.

At the plenary session, participants expressed their thoughts and opinions on the scientific heritage of the Timurid era, its significance in modern research, and prospects.

The second plenary session was attended by prominent international scholars and experts. In particular, ISESCO Regional Director Anar Karimov, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov, and IRCICA Director Mahmud Erol Kılıç spoke in their presentations about the place of the Timurid era in world civilization and the necessity of a comprehensive study of its cultural, spiritual, and scientific heritage.

During the session, Damir Mukhetdinov, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, and Irina Popova, a representative of the Russian Academy of Sciences, also participated with presentations, sharing their views on the scientific significance of unique sources such as Temur Tuzuklari (Tamerlane's Institutes), the Timurid state administration system, and its historical heritage.

As another important event within the framework of the conference, the Museum of the History of Islamic Civilization, operating under the Center, was recognized by TURKSOY as the "Best Museum in the Turkic World." This prestigious certificate was solemnly presented by the Secretary-General of the organization. This recognition demonstrates that the Center is being highly appreciated on the international arena in a short period of time.

Leading scientists from a number of countries such as Turkey, France, Italy, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Russia, China, India, Iran, and Kazakhstan are participating in the conference. They are presenting the results of their scientific research in areas such as the history of the Timurid era, political systems, urban planning traditions, and the development of science and culture.

In their speeches, foreign participants particularly emphasized the global significance of the Timurid heritage and its role in strengthening cultural ties between European and Asian civilizations. It was also noted that such international conferences are of great importance in developing scientific dialogue, exchanging experience, and defining new research directions.

This conference became an important step towards deeply studying the rich scientific and cultural heritage of the Timurid era, further widely highlighting its place in the development of world civilization, and passing this priceless heritage on to future generations.

Sultan Raev, Secretary-General of TURKSOY:

— As is well known from history, the land of Uzbekistan, located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, has since ancient times been one of the cradles of high civilization and culture. The fact that two great Renaissances were founded here in the past clearly confirms how sacred these lands are and how wise the Uzbek people are. Understanding Sahibkiran Amir Timur, the great son of the Turkic peoples, actually means rediscovering the roots that unite us around a single history and culture. The conference serves this noble purpose.

TURKSOY is ready to comprehensively contribute to projects on introducing works related to the Timurid era to the world through scientific publications, supporting book publishing, and digitizing this heritage. At this point, I would like to acknowledge that the people of Uzbekistan, under the leadership of their wise leader, the great statesman of our time Shavkat Miromonovich, are not only proud of history, but are striving to be worthy of their ancestors. The country has set a great goal of founding the Third Renaissance and is boldly striving toward the future with practical steps.

Farhan Nizami, Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies:

— In my opinion, this initiative is extremely important because it once again reminds the general public of Central Asia's immense contribution not only to regional culture and civilization, but to world history. Here, people gain a deeper understanding of the great achievements of our ancestors in science, literature, architecture, and other fields. Most importantly, this initiative serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement for today's generation, helping them understand their identity and clearly define their history and future goals.

Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Director of the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA):

— Although 57 countries of the world are members of our organization, Uzbekistan holds a special place. Because Uzbekistan is the land where the greatest scholars of the Islamic world were born, a place of unparalleled discoveries, cultural monuments, rich history, and vast civilizations. Today's conference is also evidence of the great attention paid by the people and leadership of Uzbekistan to the study of the heritage of great ancestors, history, and culture. We have been implementing a number of projects with the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. In particular, our work on the "Encyclopedia of Thinkers Originating from the Land of Uzbekistan" is ongoing. During today's conference, a number of projects focused on holding calligraphy competitions together with the Center and exploring the place of the Timurid heritage in the Islamic world were also discussed.

Gu Guoxin, Head of the International Relations Department of the Film Bureau of the People's Republic of China:

The peoples of China and Uzbekistan are bound by centuries-old cultural ties. Especially during the Timurid era, diplomatic relations were further strengthened. The visits of the ambassadors of Mirzo Ulugbek and Shahrukh to the court of the Chinese Emperor and the establishment of mutually beneficial relations are reflected in a number of historical sources. Many historical cities of Uzbekistan are located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, which plays a major role in the history of relations between the two peoples. During today's conference, I gave a presentation on the historical relations between the two peoples. A bilateral memorandum of cooperation was signed, according to which a number of film projects are planned to be implemented in the future in cooperation with the Center for Islamic Civilization. We hope that this cooperation will bear fruit in the future.

Aktoty Raimkulova, Head of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation:

We are witnessing the opening of a prestigious scientific-practical conference dedicated to the immense contribution of Amir Timur and the Timurid civilization to world development.

Prominent scientists and researchers from various corners of the world are participating in this conference. Moreover, the Center for Islamic Civilization, established at the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has today become one of the world's most prestigious and spiritually rich scientific centers. As we toured the center, we became acquainted with the hall dedicated to Amir Timur. Especially, the fact that the Hall of the Second Renaissance, dedicated to the Timurid civilization, was created with rich content and high artistic standards left a great impression.

The heritage of Amir Timur and the Timurid civilization plays an important role in the development of our peoples, along the path of today's independence and prosperity. I wish great success to the conference participants, scientists, and researchers.
