A large amount of narcotic drugs smuggled from the neighboring state were stopped during an operational event in cooperation with the Border Troops of the State Security Service and the Samarkand region department in order to combat illegal drug trafficking.
In particular, three citizens of the Urgut district, born in 1989 and 1992, were detained by material evidence during their return to the territory of Uzbekistan, in violation of the Uzbek-Tajik state border, taking from drug traffickers 14 kg 766 grams of "opium" and 14 kg 958 grams of "hashish" from drug traffickers.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened against violators under Part 2 of Article 246 and Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code.
In another case, during the operational-search activities carried out with the cooperation of the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Samarkand, a private car garage in the territory of the "Orzu" MFY of Samarkand city was inspected with the participation of objectors.
As a result, it was revealed that the extraction of 9 kg 40 g of opium was hidden among the marble stones in a specially prepared hut.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 246 and Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, and measures are being taken to arrest the owner of the garage.
It is worth noting that for the commission of crimes in both cases, the legislation establishes a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
