Following the controversies surrounding IMarat Development, questions directed at Rasul Kusherbayev have also increased. He stated that he does not hide his prior cooperation with Marat Hamdamov, but is ready to help citizens who trusted him to buy homes secure their rights through legal means.
On social networks, claims have been made against Rasul Kusherbayev such as: “Why are you silent about Marat and the controversies connected to him?” and “We saw you by his side and trusted him to pay money.”
According to Kusherbayev, before expressing his stance on the situation, he wanted to personally inspect the actual condition of the construction sites.
In particular, he visited the site of the “Sergeli City” project and saw that construction work was ongoing there.
Kusherbayev noted that a disagreement arose between Marat Hamdamov and his partner Jasur. However, in his opinion, citizens who paid money for housing should not suffer because of this dispute.
At the same time, he noted that construction work at some sites is delayed beyond the established deadlines. In particular, although it was said that some work in “Sergeli City” would be completed in a month and a half, Kusherbayev stated that it is difficult to give a confident assessment of this deadline. In his opinion, the work may take a few more months to resolve. Issues related to gas, electricity, and water also need to be resolved.
“I was by Marat's side”
Kusherbayev answered questions regarding his relationship with Marat Hamdamov openly.
He admitted that he participated in a number of Marat's events and social projects, and that there was cooperation between them.
According to Kusherbayev, Marat helped with construction materials and financial aspects for his housing construction for needy families, roads, and other social projects.
“I have been seen by the side of that same Marat at a number of events and projects, and I will never deny this,” Kusherbayev said.
He emphasized that some citizens may have trusted him precisely because they saw these relationships. For this reason, Kusherbayev stated that he will not bypass their complaints today.
“Because you say you trusted him, I will stand by you. I am ready to help you recover your rights as much as I can,” Kusherbayev said.
According to him, if a citizen wishes, he will try to help them obtain their home, or if they wish, get their paid funds returned through legal means.
“I do not want to defend him”
Kusherbayev also specially emphasized that he did not come out to defend Marat Hamdamov.
According to him, Marat fulfilled the promises of help he made to him personally. But this does not mean that he gives a positive assessment of other situations connected to Marat.
“I don't want to take his side either. Maybe he had other problems, I didn't know about them,” Kusherbayev said.
At the same time, it has been reported that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation around IMarat Development and investigative actions are being carried out. A final legal assessment of the circumstances within the framework of this case will be given as a result of the investigation and court proceedings.
Kusherbayev emphasizes that the most important thing in this process is ensuring the rights of citizens.
According to his words, the issue of people's housing or the funds they paid should not be left aside.
“People are not at fault. You must get your housing or you must get your money back. In this very work, I am ready to help,” he said.
At the same time, Kusherbayev stated that he may reconsider cooperation with construction companies within the framework of social projects in the future, and even stop such practice.
He said he does not regret his past cooperation with Marat, and has no intention of apologizing for it. However, he emphasized that today he will not stand aside in front of the citizens who trusted him and paid funds for housing.
“Do not accept this video as a means of justifying myself. You can criticize as much as you want. I am monitoring the situation. The important thing is people are not at fault — you must get your housing or get your money back,” Rasul Kusherbayev said.
