In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the mortality rate of those infected with the Ebola virus has reached 51.6 percent.
In a report published on October 31 of this year by the country's National Institute of Public Health, it was stated that since the outbreak began, 10,414 people have been diagnosed with the virus, of whom 5,372 have died.
Currently, the virus has spread to eight provinces and 67 medical districts of the country. Health authorities report that dozens of new infection cases are recorded every day.
It is noted that this is the largest Ebola epidemic in the history of Congo. It is also the largest outbreak in the world after the epidemic observed in West Africa in 2013-2016. The virus has also spread outside the country, but its spread in other countries is currently limited.
