“I am actually the victim” – after 18 months of silence, “Anorbank” shareholder Qahramonjon Olimov revealed his position

Recently, various claims and legal processes surrounding the name of Qahramonjon Olimov have been discussed. Now, through his legal representative, the businessman has expressed an open attitude to these events for the first time and rejected the accusations brought against him.

In a statement distributed through the FEDIDA ASSOCIES law firm, Qahramonjon Olimov stated that he and his family have faced various attacks over the past 18 months.

According to Olimov, he was kidnapped in Paris on June 24, 2025, held illegally for two days, and forced to pay a ransom for his release.

«On June 24, 2025, I was kidnapped in Paris. For two days, I was illegally detained, tortured, and forced to pay a ransom so that I could be released», — Olimov says.

According to him, as a result of the investigation conducted by the French police, five people were arrested and are being held in pre-trial detention. Judicial control measures have been applied against two other people.

According to Olimov, requests to release the defendants on bail were rejected.

The issue related to Interpol

Another important part of the statement is the situation related to Interpol. According to Olimov, a red notice regarding an international search by Interpol has been issued against him by Uzbekistan. It is stated in it that Olimov was accused of kidnapping.

Olimov denied this accusation, stating instead that he was the victim of this crime.

«I am being accused of kidnapping, whereas I myself was the victim of this very crime. This red notice has now been removed from the Interpol website», — he said.

Olimov denied all accusations brought against him and stated that he is defending his rights in court.

He also stated that after the recent events, economic, legal, and reputational actions directed against him and his businesses have continued.

Olimov expressed confidence in the judicial systems of France and Uzbekistan, expressing belief that the persons involved in the crimes he emphasizes will answer before the law.

In his opinion, the objective and comprehensive study of these circumstances is also important from the standpoint of ensuring Uzbekistan's international reputation, as well as an open and reliable environment for local and foreign investors.

Note: the kidnapping, torture, ransom demands, and other circumstances presented in the statement are information provided by Olimov and his legal representative. The legal assessment of these claims must be given by the relevant investigative and judicial authorities.
