Our compatriots leaving to work abroad must return with an income of at least 2 thousand dollars. However, in some regions, migrants earn around 400–700 dollars per month. Criticizing this situation, the President demanded a systematic analysis and practical results from governors regarding labor migration.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the fact that the income of citizens working abroad varies across different regions.
According to the figures provided by the President, the average monthly remittance per citizen working abroad in Fergana region amounts to 1,800 dollars. In some other regions, this indicator is around 400–700 dollars.
Criticizing this situation, the head of state emphasized that instead of sending citizens abroad for low-paying jobs, it is necessary to create decent working conditions for them.
“What is the point of sending them there? They can easily earn 500 dollars right here. Yet people are working over there,” said the President.
Furthermore, governors were required to analyze the issue of labor migration on a monthly basis, establish regular communication with ambassadors, and work on creating decent conditions for citizens working abroad.
According to the President, it is wrong to send young people to low-paying jobs without adequately teaching them professions and foreign languages.
“In current conditions, they must bring back at least two thousand dollars, at the very least,” emphasized the head of state.
The President also cited an example that employers in Germany are ready to pay wages ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 euros. He noted that such a decent income would enable citizens to purchase housing, a car, and improve their family conditions.
Therefore, in labor migration, the main criterion should no longer be just how many people are sent abroad, but what profession, under what conditions, and with how much income they are working.
