“I did not make a promise, I outlined measures” – Ramazon Ashrapov

During a mobile reception, citizens asked Ramazon Ashrapov, Head of the Investigation Department, about the measures being implemented regarding the case and the issue of compensating for the material damage caused. Ashrapov emphasized that concrete measures had been outlined, not promises made.

During the conversation, citizens stated that their main demand regarding the case was related to the compensation of material damage and raised the issue of trust.

To the question carrying the meaning of “Can we trust you?”, Ashrapov stated that this issue is of primary importance.

“Who is a state official? If you don’t trust us, why did you come? I did not promise. I outlined measures. I do not make promises,” Ramazon Ashrapov replied to the citizen.

According to him, measures have been taken to ensure the accountability of 12 individuals within the framework of the case. Ashrapov stated that individuals ranging from government representatives to those suspected of fraud have been identified, two people are wanted, and detention and other preventive measures have been applied to the remaining individuals.

The head of investigation emphasized that measures are also being taken to identify and seize property in order to compensate for the material damage.

“Alleviating your burden is our direct duty. If we do not fulfill it, we have no right to stay [in office] even for a day,” he said.

At the same time, Ashrapov noted that the final outcome will be decided by the court. During the mobile reception, citizens also complained that it was becoming difficult to even appeal to the relevant authorities.
