The Israeli army announced that it has launched a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon. This was stated by the army's official Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee.
According to him, the 91st Division has begun limited military actions at certain key points in southern Lebanon over the past few days.
“Forces of the 91st Division have in recent days launched a limited ground operation against key positions in southern Lebanon. This operation is being carried out with the aim of expanding the advanced defense zone,” Adraee wrote on the X social network.
According to him, the operation plans to destroy “terrorist infrastructure” and eliminate fighters operating in this area. This is intended to ensure the security of the population in northern Lebanon.
Adraee noted that before the start of the ground operation, artillery and air forces struck a number of targets in southern Lebanon.
At the same time, along with offensive operations, the division's forces are also performing the task of protecting settlements in the Galilee region.
In response, the Hezbollah movement announced that it had conducted 25 military operations against the Israeli army on Sunday. Twelve of them were carried out on Lebanese territory.
It was also reported that 9 attempts by Israeli troops to advance were repelled, and 5 military bases were attacked using rockets and drones.
