American Cody Wilson has unveiled a handgun named WASP, which he claims was developed using artificial intelligence. The .22 caliber weapon was created with the help of a special AI model called GatGPT.

Gun rights activist Cody Wilson has presented his new development in the field of 3D-printed weapons. He is calling this weapon, named WASP, the world's first "AI-generated gun." This was reported by The Verge.

According to the publication, WASP consists of a spring-loaded mechanism and a barrel housed in a plastic body, reminiscent of Wilson's previous creation — the Liberator, a single-use 3D-printed weapon. The device's appearance differs significantly from traditional handguns.

Wilson claims that he did not just create a weapon using AI, but also built a specialized AI model capable of developing firearm designs. Named GatGPT, this model was trained on the DEFCAD platform's digital firearm design library. The report states that the model can also help select the necessary parts for manufacturing a weapon.

This development could heighten concerns regarding the spread of "ghost guns" — home-built weapons that lack serial numbers and are difficult to track. Wilson has stated that he considers gun ownership to be a "fundamental human right."

According to The Verge, the WASP project was developed through simple interaction with artificial intelligence. The publication also noted that the weapon is capable of firing real ammunition and does not have a serial number.
