Does "Iman" need faith?

A controversy has arisen around "Iman Invest," a company that is supposed to operate in accordance with Islamic finance principles.

Mahmud Usman, an international Islamic finance auditor, has reported that there are financial violations and a multi-million-dollar deficit in the company. Rustam Rakhmatov, the company's founder, denies these accusations.

The Islamic Finance Compliance Board (IFCB) announced that it terminated its partnership with "Iman Invest" on October 25, 2026. In its statement, the board raised serious objections regarding the use of investor funds, profit distribution, and certain expenses.

According to Mahmud Usman, suspicious financial operations related to the company's activities were discovered during the audit. He claimed that part of the investor funds was spent on directions other than designated purposes.

Meanwhile, the management of "Iman Invest" stated that an agreement has been reached with an auditing organization to conduct an independent Sharia audit, and work has begun to form a new Islamic finance board.

Company founder Rustam Rakhmatov rejected Mahmud Usman's claims, stating that the disagreement between them is related to service fees and the issue of granting a share in the company's shares. However, this view is currently considered Rakhmatov's personal statement.

Mahmud Usman, on the other hand, stated that he is ready to provide documents, explanatory letters, and recordings of meetings confirming his position.

The company's actual financial situation, claims of a deficit, and obligations to investors must be clarified based on an independent audit and relevant documents.

For now, there is no basis to evaluate the mutual accusations of the parties as a final confirmed fact. The results of an independent audit and the conclusions of authorized bodies are of crucial importance in shedding light on the situation.
