Financial aid of up to 500 BRV to be provided to victims of emergencies

The procedure for assessing and compensating damage caused to the population as a result of man-made emergencies has been established in Uzbekistan. Family members of deceased citizens will be paid a one-time financial aid of up to 500 BRV, and those injured will receive 100–200 BRV depending on the severity of their bodily injuries.

The relevant regulation was approved by Government Decision No. 606 dated November 3, 2026.

The regulation covers such incidents as transport accidents and crashes, emergencies at chemically hazardous and fire-explosive facilities, accidents in energy and utility systems, as well as sudden collapse of building structures.

Victims must fill out an application in the prescribed form and submit it to the relevant commission within 30 days from the date of the emergency.

Until the culprits are identified by the court, the damage caused will be compensated from the funds of special funds under district or city khokimiyats. Even in cases where guilty legal entities or officials fail to fully compensate the damage within the established period, the payment will be made through this fund.

One-time financial aid is paid based on the commission's report and decisions of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions and the city of Tashkent.

The amounts of financial aid are established as follows:

  • To family members of deceased citizens — up to 500 BRV. The amount is distributed equally among the spouse, children, parents, and dependents.

  • To those who sustained severe bodily injuries — up to 200 BRV.

  • To those who sustained moderate bodily injuries — up to 150 BRV.

  • To those who sustained light bodily injuries — up to 100 BRV.

It is stipulated that financial aid will be paid at the expense of legal entities found guilty or their officials.
