In an operational operation conducted by the employees of the Tashkent regional department of the State Security Service in cooperation with the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs in the direction of combating economic crimes, individuals engaged in manufacturing and putting counterfeit money into circulation were caught red-handed.
In particular, a citizen born in 1993, living in the city of Angren, conspiring with his acquaintance born in 1997, rented an apartment located in one of the multi-story buildings in the city and manufactured counterfeit money.
During the inspection, a total of 79.8 million soms in counterfeit money consisting of 100 and 200 thousand som banknotes in a semi-finished state, an "EPSON" color printer and its inks, as well as stationery items were seized as material evidence. It should be noted that although these individuals had previous convictions, they did not draw the right conclusions from their mistakes.
In regards to the incident, a criminal case has been initiated against the offenders under paragraph "v" of Part 2 of Article 176 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
