As a result of studies regarding centralized heat supply services in Kashkadarya region, a recalculation of nearly 2.3 billion UZS was made in favor of consumers living in 5,500 apartments. This was reported by the regional territorial department of the Competition Committee.
According to the report, "Issiqlik taʼminoti" LLC supplied thermal energy through local boiler houses to 14,448 apartments in 384 multi-story buildings in the city of Karshi as well as Karshi, Nishan, Kasan, and Yakkabog districts. In addition, heat supply contracts were concluded with 12 budget and other organizations.
During the studies, it was revealed that heat was not supplied to apartments on days when the boiler houses did not operate due to scheduled maintenance, system accidents, drops in gas pressure, and disruptions in cold water and electricity supplies. However, debt charges were still calculated for consumers for these days.
To protect consumer rights, the issue of recalculation at the end of the season in accordance with the established legislation was considered. As a result, a recalculation of nearly 2.3 billion UZS was made in favor of citizens living in 5,500 apartments.
The Competition Committee stated that work to protect consumer rights will be continued consistently.
