Last year, it was reported that «Uzbekneftegaz» signed a memorandum with a US gas company to establish a network of fueling stations worth nearly 100 million dollars across Uzbekistan.
Answering a question about the fate of the project, a representative of «Uzbekneftegaz» stated that the exact construction date has not yet been determined.
According to him, the main task within the framework of cooperation was to assist the US company in identifying promising regions in Uzbekistan and implementing the project.
«They set the task of identifying promising locations in Uzbekistan and opening gas stations near busy areas and major highways. Studies were conducted on this, and all documents were collected», — said the representative of «Uzbekneftegaz».
Currently, the foreign partner is studying the economic efficiency and financial calculations of the project.
Only after a final decision is made will the issue of moving to the next stage be resolved.
The studies were carried out throughout the republic. In particular, major routes and high-traffic roads in all regions were analyzed. However, there is currently no information on which regions have been specifically designated for the construction of gas stations.
«It is still too early to say that it will be right here», — said the company representative.
He emphasized that factors such as vehicle traffic in the regions, the number of existing gas stations, the share of electric vehicles, and domestic demand for fuel will be taken into account when making a decision.
After that, the foreign partner will evaluate in which region the construction of a new gas station will be economically justified.
«Uzbekneftegaz» did not provide information regarding SANEG licenses
During the conversation, a question was also asked about the revocation of licenses belonging to the SANEG company for oil fields in Uzbekistan. A representative of «Uzbekneftegaz» stated that this issue does not fall within the company's competence.
According to him, SANEG is a separate organization, and there are no cooperative or subordinate relations with «Uzbekneftegaz» on this issue.
«This information was announced by Davaktiv. It would be more correct to ask them about this, you would have deeper information», — he said.
Also, according to the representative of «Uzbekneftegaz», no additional information was provided to the company regarding the licenses associated with SANEG.
«No fund or any share has been transferred to us», — he added.
Thus, for now, specific construction locations and deadlines have not been determined for the planned network of gas stations with the US company. A decision on the project is expected to be made after the foreign partner completes its economic calculations.
