One of Turkey's famous tourist destinations, Cappadocia continues to attract international and domestic tourists with its unique rock formations, cave hotels, underground cities, and early morning hot air balloon rides. In 2025 alone, more than 4.5 million tourists visited the region. This figure further solidified Cappadocia's position as one of the leading cultural tourism destinations in Turkey.

Cappadocia attracts attention not only for its natural landscapes, but also for its local traditions and various tourism-related experiences. One of the most popular ways to closely experience the region's valleys and unique natural landscapes is horseback riding.

Referred to in history as the "land of beautiful horses," Cappadocia holds a special place for equestrian culture. Aimed at promoting this heritage, the "2nd Cappadocia Horse and Equestrian Culture Festival" will be held from July 3–5, 2026, at the Göreme festival grounds. The three-day festival program includes traditional and modern horse shows, performances by participants from Turkey and foreign countries, horseback archery, equestrian demonstrations, and traditional racing competitions.

The festival program is not limited to equestrian demonstrations. During the event, exhibitions, lectures, and panel discussions will be organized, highlighting the formation and development processes of equestrian culture in various civilizations.

Festival guests will also be introduced to the unique flavors of Nevşehir cuisine during the event. Nevşehir gastronomy has gained wider international recognition after being included in the Michelin GUIDE. Combining culture, historical heritage, gastronomy, and unique landscapes, the festival offers an opportunity to closely experience the authentic spirit of the region.

The program also includes play areas for children, guided horseback rides for visitors, traditional equestrian displays such as javelin, and horse beauty contests. Concerts and live performances held against the backdrop of Cappadocia's unique natural landscapes will add cultural diversity to the festival atmosphere.
