The film "Echo of Enlightenment", created in Uzbekistan, has achieved major international recognition—the project has advanced to the finals of the prestigious New York Festivals competition.

The documentary film series "Echo of Enlightenment", produced by the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, has reached the final stage of one of the film industry's prestigious awards—the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards 2026.

The project features globally renowned Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley. It was reported that the film received high praise from a panel of international experts. In the finals, it will compete for a bronze, silver, or gold award.

The winners are scheduled to be announced at the Storytellers Gala award ceremony on May 21, 2026.

The documentary highlights the contributions of great thinkers from Central Asia—such as Al-Khwarizmi, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Sina—to the development of world civilization. It also presents the periods of the Timurids and Baburids, as well as the region's rich historical heritage, through a popular science approach.

The project was previously introduced to an international audience and broadcasted on CNN, BBC, and Euronews television channels.

It is noted that the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards are distinguished by a strict selection system and a high level of competition. Previously, projects from leading media companies such as the BBC, National Geographic, and Netflix have also been highly evaluated in this competition.

According to experts, this result demonstrates Uzbekistan's growing prestige in the international scientific and cultural arena.
