Amid closed airspace in a number of countries—including Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, and Israel—due to military operations in the Middle East region, efforts to evacuate Uzbek citizens are ongoing.
According to reports, as of 10:00 AM on March 7, from February 28, a total of 13,543 Uzbeks were brought back through 63 flights operated from the airports of Madinah and Jeddah, while 1,401 citizens were brought back from Dubai via 9 flights.
Additionally, hundreds of passengers were returned to Uzbekistan on flights operated by foreign airlines.
Currently, organizational work is underway to evacuate citizens remaining in Qatar via Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia.
It has been reported that nearly 95 percent of the evacuated citizens traveled to the Middle East on tour packages.
The Ministry of Transport noted that there have been instances of certain tour operators and agents abandoning their clients, and called on all travel companies to fulfill their obligations to customers even in force majeure situations.
Work on organizing air transportation is currently ongoing.
