A representative of a family enterprise operating in the city of Samarkand, despite not having the relevant authorization to send citizens on the Umrah pilgrimage, gained another person's trust and demanded 3,450 US dollars in exchange for sending them and 2 of their relatives to Saudi Arabia for the blessed trip and creating conditions for them to fully perform their sacred duties.
However, when he received 3,000 dollars of the requested funds, he was caught red-handed with physical evidence by officers of the State Security Service and the Department of Internal Affairs.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him, and preliminary investigation actions are underway.
A similar law violation was also recorded in the Namangan region.
In particular, the head of an LLC operating in the Namangan district demanded 1,350 US dollars in exchange for illegally sending a citizen living in the Uchkurgan district on the Umrah pilgrimage, and was caught red-handed with physical evidence by SSS and DIA officers while receiving 1,200 dollars in advance.
Currently, pre-investigation checkups are being conducted regarding the incident.
Citizens are urged to check the licenses of individuals promising to organize the Umrah pilgrimage, not to fall for suspicious offers, and to be cautious when making payments.
