It was revealed that a passenger in a Nexia 3 car was transporting nearly 1 kg of drugs hidden inside a doll in the Bektemir district. She is suspected of bringing the substance from Fergana with the intent to sell it. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.

A woman transporting a toy stuffed with hashish has been detained in the Bektemir district of Tashkent, reports the Tashkent Region Internal Affairs Directorate (IAD). According to the report, officers from the IAD Cybercrime Directorate and the Nurafshon City Internal Affairs Department conducted an operational-search operation based on information found on the internet.

During the operation, a Nexia 3 vehicle moving through the Bektemir district was stopped and inspected. Upon inspection, officers' attention was drawn to a children's doll among the belongings of a 56-year-old female passenger, G. A., and its weight raised suspicions. When the toy was examined from the inside, it was found to contain 8 separate packages weighing 100-150 grams each of a dark brown hashish substance with a pungent odor.

According to preliminary investigations, the woman had purchased these drugs in the Fergana region and was bringing them to Tashkent to sell them. It was revealed that the driver of the Nexia 3 was working as a taxi driver via the Yandex service and was seeing the female passenger for the first time. A criminal case has been initiated over the incident, and investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the drugs.

The IAD reminded that under Uzbekistan's legislation, illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs carries a prison sentence of up to 20 years.
