An open court hearing has begun in the Buka District Criminal Court to review the criminal case related to the poisoning of kindergarten students in the Bekabad, Buka, Akkurgan, Piskent, and Kuyichirchik districts in September 2025. This was reported by the Supreme Court press service.
According to reports, 11 individuals are being accused in this case under Article 186, Part 4, Clause "b" (production or sale of goods that do not meet safety requirements) and Article 257-1, Part 1 (violation of sanitary legislation or anti-epidemic rules) of the Criminal Code.
Precautionary measures in the form of "detention" were applied to 10 of the defendants, and "house arrest" to 1 person.
For information, on September 24, 2025, cases of poisoning among students were detected in a number of preschool educational institutions in the Piskent, Buka, Bekabad, Kuyichirchik, and Akkurgan districts of the Tashkent region.
In connection with the incident, the Investigative Department under the Main Internal Affairs Department of Tashkent Region initiated a criminal case against the officials of several private enterprises providing outsourcing services.
To ensure a thorough and high-quality investigation, the criminal case has been placed under the control of the General Prosecutor's Office, and a special working group has been established under the leadership of the First Deputy Prosecutor General, B. Valiyev.
During the investigation, all students of preschool educational institutions supplied with food products by these outsourcing companies underwent a full medical examination, and necessary diagnostics and treatment were organized.
It was reported that among the children who received medical assistance, there are no patients in serious or extremely serious conditions, and the situation is under the control of doctors.
Additionally, in order to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, the prosecutor's offices conducted a study into the supply of food products to state preschool educational institutions on an outsourcing basis.
Currently, within the framework of this case, the criminal case against the officials of several outsourcing companies is being reviewed in the Buka District Court.
