Three new hydroelectric power plants launched in Kashkadarya

Three hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 24 megawatts have been commissioned on the Aksu River. The new HPPs are expected to generate 105.1 million kWh of electricity per year and supply power to nearly 44,000 households.

During the visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kashkadarya region, the new hydroelectric power plants built on the Aksu River were launched.

The complex includes the 6.2 MW Rabat HPP, 7.5 MW Chappasuy HPP, and 10.3 MW Tamshush HPP.

According to "Uzbekhydroenergo" JSC, the cascade of stations will generate an average of 105.1 million kWh of electricity annually.

Another important aspect of the project is reducing the consumption of natural gas and coal. According to calculations, about 31.5 million cubic meters of natural gas and 45–50 thousand tons of coal can be saved annually.

The new HPPs will serve to strengthen the region's energy infrastructure by utilizing the natural hydropower potential of the Aksu River.

Additionally, the generated electricity will make it possible to cover the needs of nearly 44,000 households per year. The project aims to expand the use of renewable energy sources and diversify energy generation sources.
