«Anthropic» paid 14 billion soums to the state budget, and «OpenAI» paid 10 billion soums in taxes.
In January–September 2026, «Anthropic», the developer of the Claude artificial intelligence model, provided electronic services worth 116.1 billion soums in Uzbekistan. The volume of services provided by ChatGPT creator «OpenAI» amounted to 83.1 billion soums.
According to the Tax Committee, «Anthropic» is also leading in terms of tax payments to the state budget. During the reporting period, the company paid 14 billion soums in taxes, while «OpenAI»'s figure in this regard was equal to 10 billion soums.
In the first quarter of 2026, the situation was different. In particular, «OpenAI» provided services worth 21.5 billion soums in Uzbekistan and paid 2.5 billion soums in taxes. This figure was almost 67 percent higher than that of «Anthropic».
During that period, the volume of «Anthropic»'s services amounted to 12.6 billion soums, and the taxes it paid amounted to 1.5 billion soums. However, the situation changed in the following months. By the end of the first half of 2026, «Anthropic»'s tax payments reached 6.3 billion soums, surpassing «OpenAI»'s figure of 5.6 billion soums.
In the third quarter, namely in July–September, the gap between the companies widened further. «Anthropic» transferred 7.7 billion soums in taxes to the state budget in that quarter alone. This is even more than the company's total tax payments for the first six months.
During the same period, «OpenAI» paid 4.4 billion soums in taxes. As a result, «Anthropic» pulled ahead of its rival by 75 percent. Thus, according to the nine-month results, «Anthropic» is leading «OpenAI» by 40 percent in terms of total tax payments.
In the ranking of foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan, they occupy the fifth and sixth places respectively.
