The inclusion of the Center in the Guinness World Records is entirely justified and fair – An Italian delegation visits the Center of Islamic Civilization

Officially recognized as the largest Museum of Islamic Civilization in the world, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has been awarded the prestigious Guinness World Records status. Created at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this large-scale complex is currently at the center of attention of both our country and the international community.

This time, the list of distinguished guests was joined by a delegation led by Fabrizio Benzoni, member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament and head of the Italy-Uzbekistan Friendship Group. The delegation was also joined by Anna Amari, Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan.

From the very first moments on the grounds of the Center, the guests highly praised the project's grand architectural design, monuments, and thoughtful execution. The four entrance portals of the Center, each with its unique symbolic meaning, aroused particular interest. Entering through the main entrance—the Ulugbek portal—the delegation recalled the verses of Surah Al-Alaq located above it.

The tour began with the "Gallery of Great Figures." The exhibition, which features prominent scholars of the First and Second Renaissances and was created using 110-color micro-mosaic techniques, left a deep impression on the guests. These handmade works of art were highly appreciated for their historical and aesthetic value.

In the section dedicated to the pre-Islamic period, the delegation received information about the early stages of human civilization. Scenes of Stone Age life, as well as hunting and rock-carved animal depictions, sparked special interest. The sections dedicated to the civilizations of Bactria, Khorezm, Fergana, and Choch were noted as the most impressive. The demonstration of Khorezm's ancient irrigation systems using modern technologies allowed guests to feel the atmosphere of that era.

Fabrizio Benzoni stated:

"One of the most impressive aspects of the Center is the harmonious blend of ancient and modern spirits in its architecture. The use of interactive and multimedia solutions allows visitors of all ages to effectively engage with culture, religion, and history. This interactivity and multi-format approach are among its main strengths."

The inclusion of the Center in the Guinness World Records is entirely justified and fair. In terms of its scale and the richness of its content, it rightfully stands as one of the largest and most impressive museums in the world. This recognition further reinforces the importance and magnitude of this project.

In the First Renaissance section, the delegation took interest in gold artifacts dating back to the Seljuk period, particularly state seals. It was emphasized that these exhibits reflect the high statehood and culture of Islamic civilization.

In the Second Renaissance section, the guests were impressed by the extensive coverage of the history and culture of the Amir Temur era. The copy of the Quran copied by Umar Aqta and the opportunity to interact with Amir Temur and his descendants through interactive technologies were especially pleasing. Information about the governance system and diplomatic relations in the Timurid state aroused great interest.

Bibikhanum's 22-kilogram dress made a particularly strong impression on Anna Amari.

Anna Amari, Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan:

"The Center of Islamic Civilization leaves a strong impression as a unique space that vividly reflects the refined aesthetic taste of the Uzbek people. Islamic culture stands out for its bright, colorful, and sincere qualities. This makes it a model for both local and international culture."

The inclusion of the Center in the Guinness World Records confirms the scale and high level of implementation of this project. This recognition demonstrates the determination of the Uzbek people and their ability to bring grand ideas to life.

The "New Uzbekistan – Foundation of a New Renaissance" section, presenting the development strategy up to 2050, was highly praised by the delegation. They noted that the connection between history and the future is particularly evident here.

At the end of the tour, the guests visited one of the most impressive parts of the Center—the Quran Hall. At the center of the hall lies the 7th-century Uthman Quran (Mushaf), surrounded by 114 copies of the Quran. The four-minute holographic mapping left a deep impression on the delegation. Especially interesting was the final moment when the image of the Uzbekistan flag appeared on the 45-ton chandelier.

Following the visit, the Italian delegation highly praised the activities of the Center and recognized it as an important scientific and educational platform for Uzbekistan and the international community. It was emphasized that such spaces play a vital role in strengthening cultural dialogue between nations.
