The film “Battle by Battle” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson was nominated in 14 categories and won six awards, including Best Picture. Anderson also received Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director.
The horror thriller “Sinners” by Ryan Coogler won four awards out of 16 nominations. Among them was Best Actor, awarded to Michael B. Jordan, who played twin brothers in the film. The movie also won awards for Original Screenplay, Original Score, and Cinematography.
Irish actress and singer Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her role in “Hamnet.”
In the Best Supporting Actress category, Amy Madigan (“Weapons”) won the award, while Sean Penn received Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Battle by Battle.”
Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” received three awards for Best Makeup, Costume Design, and Production Design.
The Best Animated Feature award went to “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” beating “Zootopia 2.”
In the Best Documentary Feature category, “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin” by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin won the award.
