As a result of a flash flood in Dehkanabad district, a Damas car was swept away, and a passenger inside died.

Having lost their way and stopped in the path of the flood, the car fell into a deep ravine. The driver managed to get out, but the body of the passenger in the car, which was washed away by the water, was found during search and rescue operations.

On October 13, one person died as a result of a flash flood in the mountainous areas of Dehkanabad district, Kashkadarya region, the regional Emergency Situations Department reports. According to the report, due to short-term heavy rains around 17:30, a flood flowed through the territory of Shakarbulak village in the Kungrad mahalla of the district.

The driver of a lost Damas car and his companion stopped in an area where floodwaters pass in order to figure out the direction. At that moment, the car slipped and fell into a deeper part of the flood channel.

After that, the driver got out of the car, tried to make a call, and warned his companion that the flood was coming. However, the strong flood current swept away the Damas and the passenger inside.

During the search and rescue operations, the body of the passenger was found. Officials were dispatched to the scene of the incident, the report says.
Earlier, Uzhydromet warned that flash floods could occur in a number of districts across several regions on October 13-14.
