The First International Forum on Islamic Civilization, organized on the initiative of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, is in the spotlight of the international community. In particular, Euronews recognized the forum as an important global initiative aimed at preserving the intellectual heritage of Islamic civilization, expanding scientific cooperation, and developing cultural dialogue.

The five-day forum is being held in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, and Termez. It is attended by over 450 scientists, religious figures, diplomats, and researchers from more than 50 countries. Comprehensive discussions dedicated to science, education, cultural exchange, manuscript preservation, digitization, and the development of international academic cooperation are organized within the framework of the forum.

The article also highlights the message sent by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the participants of the forum. It emphasizes that today science, education, and culture are the main foundations of peace, mutual trust, and sustainable development.

Euronews notes that the main idea of the forum is to respond through knowledge and enlightenment to misconceptions linking Islam with extremism or violence. In this regard, the publication quotes Rustam Jabborov, Scientific Secretary of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan: «Linking Islam with violence or extremism is completely contrary to its true essence.»

The publication also elaborates on the incomparable contribution of Central Asian scholars to the development of world science. In particular, it is emphasized that the heritage of great scientists such as Al-Khwarizmi, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Abu Rayhan Beruni is inextricably linked with the progress of modern science, including artificial intelligence and astronomy.

Forum participants are exchanging views on digitizing manuscripts, preserving scientific heritage, expanding academic exchanges between universities and research centers, and implementing new joint projects. It is noted that launching over 70 international initiatives within the framework of the forum marks the beginning of a new stage in international cooperation.

According to Euronews analysis, the First International Forum on Islamic Civilization is emerging as an important international platform serving not only to promote the rich intellectual heritage of Islamic civilization, but also to strengthen dialogue, mutual understanding, and scientific cooperation among nations.
